OPEN AND CLOSED

It's hard to believe once upon a time fashion police enforced the one type of shoe you could wear on your wedding day: closed toe pumps in white or ivory peau satin. Rarely did brides step out of this defined code unless they were brazen or had something to do with Hollywood. Don't get me wrong, closed toe satin pumps are still elegant as you can see in the photos above. So are the taupey-tinted ankle- strapped sandals and metallica peeps. The point here is, you've got choices, baby. Rejoice!

DESIGNER SPOTLIGHT: NATASHA JANE


With a background in fashion and interior design, Natasha Jane brings a unique mix of romantic, tattered and vintage to her headpieces. Based in the UK, Natasha Jane not only showcases her work via the net, she's building a 'boutique' presence as well. Also working with private customers on a one-to-one basis, she says, "I love to design the bespoke pieces too, creating something specifically to the customer's requirements. "




Most of her designs are created using Silver plated and coloured wire, glass beads, Swarovski crystal beads and pearls. Fabrics such as georgette, chiffon and freshwater pearls are combined. The tattered look of most of her pieces is what I think really sets them apart and defines her extraordinary work . . .
